Booking and patient information

How to book an examination and what you need before your visit.

Booking

Several independent providers operate at Medicinski center Ljubljana, and each runs its own booking. That is why appointments cannot be booked right here on this page. Each clinic has a link that takes you straight to booking with the provider that runs it.

You can find a clinic on the list of all clinics or with the search box on the home page. If you don’t know where your problem belongs, type a symptom into the search box – for example “shoulder pain” or “rash” – and it will point you to the right area.

What you need

For treatment on referral, you need a referral from your personal doctor and valid health insurance. Self-pay treatment does not require a referral. Each clinic states whether it works under the public health insurance scheme, on a self-pay basis or both – some do both, depending on the service.

Bring reports from previous tests relating to your problem and a list of the medicines you take regularly. It saves the doctor guesswork and often saves you a visit.

Cancelling or rescheduling an appointment

Cancel or reschedule an appointment with the provider you booked with, the same way you booked or using the contact in the booking confirmation. Let them know as soon as possible – a freed-up slot is almost always taken straight away by someone who is waiting.

Emergencies

This page is not intended for emergencies. If you have chest pain, severe shortness of breath, sudden weakness on one side of the body, difficulty speaking or impaired consciousness, or strong, sudden pain, call 112.
