Juna at the centre

Juna has its clinic at Medicinski center Ljubljana, Vilharjev podhod 10. It is run by Sabina Senčar, MD, a specialist in gynaecology and obstetrics who is also licensed in general medicine. Until 2012 she worked at the Department of Gynaecology of the University Medical Centre Ljubljana before going independent.

At the centre Juna covers the gynaecology clinic, which ZZ Zdravje also runs. It focuses on conditions that stay with women in the long term – after childbirth, in menopause and with age: urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse and hormonal imbalance.

Laser treatment

Juna uses a non-ablative Er:YAG laser for gynaecological procedures. The procedure is done as an outpatient, without anaesthesia or wounds, and usually takes about half an hour. You can return to everyday activities straight away; for two weeks, avoid heavy physical effort, lifting, sexual intercourse and bathing.

The laser is used to treat stress urinary incontinence, where the procedure is usually repeated twice, six weeks apart, and pelvic organ prolapse such as cystocele and rectocele, which usually takes three to five procedures. It is also used for vaginal laxity after childbirth and to correct scars after childbirth or surgery.

In labiaplasty, the enlarged or asymmetric part of the labia minora is removed with the laser. The procedure is done as an outpatient under local anaesthesia, and stitches are rarely needed.

The laser only helps with the stress form of urinary incontinence, so an examination and an accurate diagnosis come first.

Other services

For hormonal imbalance around and after menopause, Juna helps ease the symptoms, with bioidentical hormones where appropriate. The clinic also offers testing for sexually transmitted infections.

For urge incontinence and an overactive bladder it uses non-invasive approaches: autogenic training and cognitive behavioural therapy. Kinesio taping is used in pregnancy to improve posture and after childbirth to strengthen the abdominal muscles.
