Medilab
Medilab is a radiology diagnostic centre that has been performing scans since 1997. At Medicinski center Ljubljana it covers MRI and CT diagnostics – with a ZZZS referral and self-pay. Booking is done directly with Medilab.
Medilab at the centre
Medilab is a radiology diagnostic centre that has been performing scans since 1997. It has two units: at Vodovodna 100 in Šiška and at Medicinski center Ljubljana, Vilharjev podhod 1. Together they run two CT scanners and five MRI scanners, including 1.5 and 3 tesla machines.
At the centre Medilab covers the MRI and CT clinic. Scans are done with a referral, under the ZZZS public scheme, and on a self-pay basis. Images are read and reported by specialist radiologists, and Medilab also works with outside specialists, mainly from the University Medical Centre Ljubljana, the Golnik Clinic and Šempeter General Hospital.
Bring your referral, your health insurance card, all documentation related to your condition and a CD of any previous scan if you have one. Instructions and consent forms for each scan are published at medilab.si; bring the completed consent form with you.
Scans at the centre
At the centre, MRI covers the head and facial skeleton, the abdominal organs including the liver and bile ducts, the spine, the sacroiliac joint and the heart. CT covers the chest and lungs, the abdomen and CT angiography of the blood vessels.
MRI of the limb joints, prostate MRI, CT of the head and skeleton and CT angiography of the coronary arteries are done at Vodovodna 100. You will be told where your scan takes place when you book. Details on preparation and what to expect are on the MRI and CT page.
Booking
Booking is handled by Medilab; appointments cannot be booked on this website. With a referral, book through e-booking, by e-mail to info@medilab.si with a copy of your documentation and your phone number, or by phone on 01 589 46 80, Monday to Friday between 8:00 and 18:00.
For a self-pay scan, send a description of your symptoms and previous results to info@medilab.si; they will call you once they have reviewed your documentation. A self-pay appointment is usually available within one to two weeks of receiving complete documentation; abdominal and prostate MRI take longer. Waiting times for referrals and the price list are published at medilab.si.
