Objem zdravja
Objem zdravja is a partner clinic at Medicinski center Ljubljana. At the centre it runs the pulmonology clinic – both under the public health insurance scheme and on a self-pay basis. Booking is done directly with the clinic.
The pulmonology clinic at the centre
At Medicinski center Ljubljana, Objem zdravja runs the pulmonology clinic. Pulmonology deals with diseases of the lungs and airways, and with allergic conditions that show up in the airways.
Reasons for treatment include a cough that won't go away, wheezing, breathlessness on exertion, recurring respiratory infections, asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
Treatment includes measurements, among them spirometry and allergy testing. Whether you need them and how to prepare, you find out when you book.
Public health insurance (ZZZS) and self-pay examinations
The pulmonology clinic at the centre is run by Objem zdravja and ZZ Zdravje. Objem zdravja works under the public health insurance scheme of the Health Insurance Institute of Slovenia (ZZZS), so with a referral from your chosen personal doctor (GP) you book directly with them.
A self-pay examination is available from both providers and you do not need a referral for it.
If you have a referral, keep it. An examination on referral at Objem zdravja is covered by compulsory health insurance, and there is no reason for you to pay for it yourself.
Booking and preparing for the examination
Booking is handled by the clinic itself. The link on the pulmonology clinic page takes you to their booking; appointments cannot be booked here, and this website does not publish the clinic's schedule.
Bring previous chest X-rays, old spirometry results and laboratory reports, and a list of your medicines. Bring inhalers and sprays in their packaging, not just their names.
Sudden severe shortness of breath, coughing up blood, and chest pain when breathing with a feeling of not getting enough air require immediate help. Call 112 and do not wait for an appointment.
