ORTHOS

ORTHOS is the only orthodontics provider at the centre. Orthodontics deals with the position of the teeth and the relationship between the jaws, and corrects them with orthodontic appliances and aligners.

Reasons for an examination include crowded or misaligned teeth, a gap between the incisors, a pronounced overjet of the upper teeth, an open bite or crossbite, and a permanent tooth that cannot find room in the arch.

Treatment is possible for children, adolescents and adults. With children, part of the treatment is guiding the growth of the jaws; with adults, growth is no longer available, so the approaches are different.

Orthodontic treatment is not a one-off procedure. The first examination is followed by images and a plan, and then by regular check-ups at which the orthodontist adjusts the appliance.

Once the appliance is removed, retention follows – wearing a retainer, or a thin wire fixed to the inside of the front teeth. This period is long and is part of the treatment.

Because the whole course of treatment, from the first examination to retention, is handled by the same clinic, you arrange check-ups and ask questions during treatment directly with them.

Treatment is self-pay and you do not need a referral for an examination. Booking is handled by ORTHOS; the link on the orthodontics clinic page takes you to their booking, and appointments cannot be booked on this website.

Because the extent of treatment varies greatly between patients, the price and method of payment are agreed with the clinic when you book or at the first examination. At that point, also ask what is included in the check-up visits and in retention.

For the first examination, bring previous X-rays and reports from your dentist.
