Who kinesiology care is for

Kinesiology deals with movement: how you move, how much load your body can tolerate and what you can change through exercise. Care is for people who would like to start exercising and do not know where to begin, those who have been exercising for a while and keep running into recurring problems, and anyone bothered by their posture or by a sense that their body no longer keeps up with everyday tasks.

Parents also often come with children and teenagers because of posture or motor development, as do recreational athletes before the start of the season and people who have finished physiotherapy and wonder how to carry on so that the problem does not come back.

A kinesiologist is not a doctor and does not make diagnoses. If you have an active illness, a fresh injury or unexplained pain, talk to a doctor first, and only then plan your exercise.

Assessment of movement and physical fitness

The first session begins with a conversation about your habits, work, previous exercise and goals. An assessment follows: the kinesiologist looks at your posture, carries out mobility and stability tests and assesses your movement patterns in basic movements such as the squat, lunge, push and pull.

A lot only shows up in movement. A knee that turns inwards during a squat. The lower back taking on work that the hips should be doing. A shoulder that rises along with the arm when you lift it.

The findings of the assessment are the starting point for an exercise plan. We tell you what we saw and why it matters for the loads you face in everyday life.

Guided exercise and advice

Exercise is individually designed and guided, which means the kinesiologist watches how you perform it and corrects it as you go. The emphasis is on technique and gradually increasing the load, not on making the exercise as hard as possible.

The programme changes over time. Once a movement pattern settles and the load becomes manageable, we progress the exercises, and we also adapt the plan to your schedule and the equipment you have at home or at the gym.

Part of the care is advice: how to spread exercise across the week, what to do on days when you are tired or something hurts, and how to fit movement into a working day spent mostly sitting.

Booking and payment

Kinesiology care is self-pay and you do not need a referral. You can book yourself, both for a movement assessment and for guided exercise.

Bring sports clothes, clean footwear and water. If you have reports from a doctor or physiotherapist relating to your problems, show them to the kinesiologist, and also mention any diagnoses and load restrictions.
